Planning Applications

We receive a weekly list of planning applications (pa.s) from Renfrewshire Council for the whole area.

This section will carry details of any that are of concern to the Community Council.

There is no presumption that the CC will oppose, or support, any individual application.

Under present C19 restrictions we will deal with any pa's through online meetings as best as we can.

 

Normally,If any pa. is put to the CC for consideration, it will be presented to a CC meeting and dealt with formally and openly. This will be on the basis of existing planning and other  policies, the views of the wider community (as best as we can determine them) as well as the views of any individual objectors.

Stewart Milne Homes (SMH) proposes a large scale development of 4 and 5 bedroom homes on the golf practice field at Burnfoot Road.  This area is part of  Lochwinnoch's Greenbelt as well as being a part of Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park.

 

SMH have already produced a lot of literature in support of their application - but you have to dig deep into Renfrewshire Council's website to find all of it.

The CC has submitted to Renfrewshire Council a detailed document (30 plus pages) containing the many lines of objection that we have. A copy can be requested through

We have also submitted a detailed document to the Scottish Government objecting to the changes made to the Greenbelt boundary (at a very late stage) by Renfrewshire Council during revision of the Local Development Plan. (this document is also available on request)

 

We contend that this change of Greenbelt to housing land was not right for the village or the wider area, and not necessary to meet housing needs, either in the village or in Renfrewshire
